Community Technology Alliance was founded in 1991 to design and construct the technical infrastructure necessary to support the work to end homelessness in Santa Clara County. CTA has since evolved into a nonprofit focusing on ways for databases and other tools to communicate and exchange data, and on ways to integrate and centrally store data for reporting and data visualization purposes.
“We use Informatica tools to be able to take all of these disparate data sets and load it into our data warehouse, or our data lake, because not every system is going to have the tools, or the APIs, or even an export that's going to make that easy. And Informatica helps us make that happen.”
- Create a common interface to house unique data systems from multiple agencies
- Integrate data into a single source of truth
- Reduce data silos that can slow down the ability to match the homeless to available housing
- Match clients to the set of services that would best meet their needs for two distinct populations: the homeless and those on the cusp of becoming below the poverty line
- Use Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services to load all disparate data sets into a data warehouse
- Utilize Tableau to provide a robust reporting platform to the communities to see their data and determine what's working and what is not working
- Use Informatica Cloud Application Integration to load flat files and CSV files into a data lake
